Miss Gay Kingston exists to celebrate, elevate, and advocate for the art of drag within Katarokwi/Kingston, Ontario.

The title serves as:

  • A platform for community leadership and advocacy
  • A celebration of diverse drag artistry
  • A mentorship and legacy-building institution
  • A uniquely Kingston-based cultural crown

Miss Gay Kingston is slightly formal yet accessible — rooted in tradition while joyfully camp, celebratory, and community-driven.

Miss Gay Kingston is guided by the following principles:

  • Inclusivity across gender identities and drag styles
  • Respect, professionalism, and artistic excellence
  • Community collaboration over competition
  • Education and mentorship of emerging artists
  • Transparency and integrity in governance
  • Growth through accountability

III. Inclusivity & Eligibility Philosophy

The title of “Miss” is symbolic and not gender-restrictive.

Competition is open to:

  • Drag artists of all gender identities
  • Artists connected to the Kingston drag community
  • Performers of all experience levels

Miss Gay Kingston exists to highlight Kingston drag first and foremost, while proudly representing the city provincially and nationally.


IV. Title Structure

Annual Crown

Miss Gay Kingston — awarded annually to a community ambassador.

Title Usage & Variants

For stylistic, branding, and accessibility purposes, the reigning titleholder may also publicly use the variants “M. Gay Kingston” or “MGK”.

Honorary Lifetime Titles

  • Empress 1 — Jas Morgan
  • Empress 2 — Tyffanie Morgan

Honorary Empress titles recognize legacy and foundational contributions. They do not interfere with annual competition fairness.


V. Governance Model

Miss Gay Kingston operates under a Single Producer model with advisory support.

The Producer:

  • Oversees strategic direction
  • Maintains final decision-making authority
  • Protects the integrity of the title

An advisory body may:

  • Offer policy recommendations
  • Provide community feedback
  • Assist with long-term planning

Miss Gay Kingston operates with a non-profit community mandate.


VI. Role of the Titleholder

The reigning Miss Gay Kingston serves as:

  • Ambassador for Kingston drag
  • Brand representative of the title
  • Positive social media presence
  • Community supporter

The titleholder must appear at the subsequent Miss Gay Kingston Pageant.

The crown is honorary and volunteer-based; paid engagements are not guaranteed.

As a brand representative of the title, the titleholder may refer to themselves publicly as Miss Gay Kingston, M. Gay Kingston, or MGK, including on social media, promotional materials, and appearances, in alignment with the values and conduct standards of the organization.


VII. Community Relationships

Miss Gay Kingston seeks collaborative relationships with:

  • Katarokwi/Kingston drag venues and artists
  • Local arts organizations
  • Pride initiatives, including Kingston Pride

The title is uniquely Kingston-based while welcoming broader provincial and national engagement.


VIII. Conduct & Accountability

Miss Gay Kingston is committed to:

  • Anti-harassment and anti-discrimination practices
  • Respectful discourse
  • Community safety
  • Restorative accountability wherever possible

The organization does not engage in reactive online conflict.
Public communication reflects clarity, dignity, and integrity.


IX. Amendments & Review

This Charter shall be reviewed annually.

Amendments may be adopted to ensure the continued health, relevance, and sustainability of the title.
